Activity needs a purpose.
Let agents propose their own goals, with a clear link back to your objective. Useful initiative should have a reason to exist.
An agent operations system for directing, observing, and improving agent teams. Give work a persistent goal, keep the evidence, and see where human judgment is needed.
Agent monitoring is live. Mission Control is the next layer.
Agent decisions + system decisions, across runs and projects.
PROPOSED MISSION CONTROL LOOP
A completed task isn’t the same as a better system. The interesting work starts when you can see why a decision was made, what actually happened, and what to change next.
Let agents propose their own goals, with a clear link back to your objective. Useful initiative should have a reason to exist.
Leave an assignment, question, or finding in an agent’s mailbox. When it comes online, it checks for eligible work and picks up with the context attached.
Record why the system chose a team, a goal, a context bundle, and a budget. Trace the outcome through both layers before deciding what to tune.
Set the objective and the boundaries. The team works in bounded cycles, records its reasoning and results, and brings forward changes worth testing.
A sample record to explain the design. These are not measured results from a deployed system.
I’ve already built and deployed an app where agent teams report their briefs and metrics. It gives executives and nontechnical people a shared view of what the agents are doing, with the work behind each update.
Mission Control builds on that foundation: persistent objectives, durable assignments, bounded execution, and a way to evaluate improvements across runs.
Open the monitoring appAgent teams report their briefs and run evidence so people can follow progress, inspect decisions, and understand what needs attention.
The monitoring app is in production, receiving agent briefs and metrics for people to inspect.
Add durable goals and handoffs. Record the system’s choices, then test what makes the next run better.
Prove the operating loop on my own teams, then explore how others can use Mission Control.
Mission Control will extend the existing visibility into an operating UI: objectives, teams, inboxes, execution, budgets, decisions, and tuning. Follow a result back to the assignment and the system choices that shaped it.
Why this work?
Why this team?
Which context and budget?
What did it decide?
What did it do?
What actually happened?
Proposed Mission Control interface with sample data. The monitoring app is live; these mailbox and orchestration controls are not yet available.
The monitoring foundation is running. I’m building Mission Control around my own agent teams next. Leave your email for development updates and potential access as the system proves useful.
The agent monitoring app is live in production. Mission Control’s persistent goals, mailboxes, budget controls, and tuning loop are in development. This interest list is for Mission Control updates and potential future access; it does not promise a launch date.
Mission Control is an operations layer around agent teams: durable goals, bounded execution, and evidence-backed tuning. It starts with my existing teams and monitoring app. Broader runtime support remains to be tested.
You define the objective, permissions, budgets, and stop conditions. Agents can propose supporting goals and explore within a separate allowance. Deterministic rules enforce the boundaries. More autonomy should be earned through evidence.
They give agents a durable place to find assignments, questions, findings, and replies when they come online. The proposed design uses a shared system of record for authorization and work state, so moving a file cannot silently complete work or bypass permissions. A scheduler can wake an eligible agent when work arrives.
Yes. The monitoring app already makes agent work visible. Mission Control will extend that into configuration, objectives, mailboxes, execution, budgets, both layers of evidence, and tuning. The illustration above shows those proposed controls, not the production monitoring interface.
Mission Control does not have announced pricing yet. First I want to see whether the new operating loop makes my own teams meaningfully better. Its availability and commercial format will follow that evidence.
